the BunkHouse - 1960's Summer Camp Nostalgia

Nestled among the Giant Sequoia's

BunkHouse 1960's Camp Vibe with Timeless Wet Bar

Our Property

Camp Nelson holds a long history for our family. My parents were the first couple to be married in the Camp Nelson chapel in 1965. My mom spent the summers in this nostalgic mountain community as a child and then lived here full time in high school, even riding the school bus down the hill. We are located within walking distance of the center of Camp Nelson and the historic meadow. The bunkhouse will remind you of those days of getting away from the city and spending sweet time with family.

We had a spectacular time at the Bunkhouse and made many fond family memories. We always try to leave the places that we stay in better condition than we found them in, but this is the first time that was not possible. Cynthia‘s place was immaculate! it’s the first cabin that we have ever stayed in that was both spacious and cozy at the same time. The cabin is heavily wooded, so that you feel peacefully isolated. We absolutely loved the charming vintage decor. Cynthia is a friendly and responsive host. It is obvious that she really cares about your experience. She has many helpful suggestions for local outings. I would highly recommend seeing the Stag Tree and Belknap campground and trail. These places were so incredibly beautiful, that I would even put them on par with Sequoia National Park itself. My wife and I even remarked, “why did we drive all that way and sit in all that traffic to go through Sequoia National Park, when we had all of this stuff 5 to 30 minutes away?”🌲❤

What a great spot! The style of the cabin fit the surrounding area, nestled into huge beautiful trees. Quiet neighborhood, cabin heats up quickly, super super well appointed for all our needs including some baking we did. Friendly owners that were responsive and kind. Comfy beds, clean sheets. Close to insanely beautiful trails like 100 Giants. 10/10 would stay here again.

We recently spent a few days before Thanksgiving at The Bunkhouse and had a great stay. We have stayed at a number of Airbnb’s and this place really stands out. From the overall cozy feel to the thoughtful design, you will most definitely have a great stay here. We enjoyed the frequent visits from all the deer and it’s always incredible to walk among the giant sequoias. Don’t hesitate to book if you are looking for a great place to stay.

loved the cabin, although there are others close by, there was enough open space to roam and many trails nearby. Big Stagg tree wasn't too far, about 15-30 mins. would love to have the opportunity to come back
